Pixelate Images Without Uploading
Brush a mosaic over faces, names or numbers without sending the photo anywhere. Redaction runs in your browser — the uncensored original never leaves your device.
How it works
- Open this page and add the image you need to censor.
- Brush over the sensitive areas — faces, names, IDs, plates.
- Adjust the block size until nothing is readable.
- Download the redacted PNG; the original never touched a server.
When this helps
- Hiding faces in a group photo before posting it.
- Masking names, addresses or order numbers in a screenshot.
- Pixelating license plates in a second-hand listing photo.
- Redacting document details in a tutorial or bug report capture.
Limits and notes
- Pixelation is irreversible in the downloaded copy — keep the original safe.
- At small block sizes text may stay readable; zoom in and check before sharing.
- The brush covers rectangular blocks, not exact object outlines.
Why redaction must happen locally
Censoring a photo by uploading it to a website hands the uncensored version to that website first — the exact thing you were trying to avoid. On this page the mosaic is painted onto the image inside your browser tab, so the sensitive version never exists anywhere but on your device.

FAQ
Is my image uploaded?
No. The mosaic is computed on your device. Nothing is sent anywhere — which matters when the whole point is hiding something sensitive.
Is the mosaic applied at full resolution?
Yes. Your brush strokes map to the original pixels, so the downloaded PNG is full quality with the selected areas pixelated.
Can someone reverse a mosaic?
Pixelation destroys information permanently. Still, for truly sensitive data (ID numbers, passwords), a solid black box is safer — bigger block size achieves the same.
